Janice Tremblay called the meeting to order at 6:10 PM

Superintendent Hodgdon presented candidates for teaching positions for the 2009-2010 school year at HBHS as follows:

Sandra Bent  – Guidance Motion to approve by Steve Simons; seconded by James O’Shea.  Approved 4-0

Julie Sullivan – Guidance/School to Careers Counselor     Motion to approve by Steve Simons; seconded by James O’Shea.  Approved 4-0

Anne Young-Gendreau  – Special Ed Case Manager        Motion to approve by Steve Simons; seconded by James O’Shea.    Approved 5-0

Tim Kelley advised the Board that a grievance might be coming as a result of teachers working without a contract in the upcoming school year.  At issue is the practice of teachers rotating after-school assignments for detention.  The previous contract, Article X, reads “other duties as mutually agreed upon.”  Without the contract, there may be a problem with teachers agreeing.  Mr. Kelley mentioned the possibility of offering a small stipend for any teacher(s) that provide these after-school services.  The Board expressed concern about setting a precedent and wondered what other situations might possibly present the same problem.

.

Steve Simons motioned to adjourn; Dan Peterson seconded.  Vote was unanimous (5-0).  Meeting adjourned at 7:02 PM
